Architecture on Display
In collaboration with The House of the Artist, The Oslo City Archives, and the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, this studio explores, interprets, curates and revives a unique collection of architectural models which today exists in a half ruinous state in the Oslo City Archives. The collection was established in 1925, planned as an ambulatory exhibition of Norwegian modernism. The collection was meant to be absolutely contemporary; old works were to be excluded and new ones included continuously. The studio will assess the architectural exhibition as a genre, and will result in the exhibition Model as Ruin at the House of Artists as well as a book on the so-called Permanent Collection and its international trajectory. The studio encompasses literature- and archival studies, exhibition design, and model restoration.
