The Oslo School of Architecture and Design
This conference gathered Nordic and international scholars, heritage managers and architects to address the future of Norwegian churches at the threshold of a new era of expanded and alternate uses. Rooted in experiences from Europe and the Nordic countries, the greatest issue at stake was how to care for church buildings at a time of lower budgets and higher needs for maintenance, transformation and renewal. As congregations around the country grow smaller, the demand for alternative thinking grows bigger. The conference was hosted in collaboration between AHO and the Church of Norway as an integrated part of AHO’s executive master’s in architectural heritage.
