OCCAS and AHO was well represented at the International Symposium on Embodied Culture in Brussels, organized in the framework of the Scientific Research Network “READ.ADAPT.REUSE. Reading and transforming the As Found”.

Tim Anstey opened the ball and the first session Materials and landscapes. Extraction, circulation and cultural landscapes with “Anne Clifford’s Escorial” (chaired by Mari Lending), PhD-student Bjørg Agasøster presented the paper “Winter Masonry as Cultural Technique: Climate, economy and knowledge in 19th century Norway” in the Cultural Techniques and Practices session (chaired by Lara Schrijver and Lionel Devlieger), and PhD student Tora Lie Brunborg contributed the paper “Regulating Mobility: Land Consolidation and Vernacular Architecture in 19th-Century Norway” to the Regulations & Bureaucracies session (chaired by Katie Lloyd Thomas). Mari Lending served on the scientific committee.
