Experimental Preservation
Victoria & Albert Museum, London
‘Hosting Experimental Preservation at the V&A’ is a roundtable event that coincides with the exhibition ‘All of This Belongs To You’ that features the work of artist and preservationist Jorge Otero-Pailos. This roundtable is co-organised by the Victoria & Albert Museum and Jorge Otero-Pailos, and brings together leading voices in this emerging field, and new participants, to ask what is experimental preservation, how might it be defined, and what are its strategies and ambitions. The event will be moderated by Simon Fleury and Jorge Otero-Pailos.
Participants: Corinna Gardner (curator V&A), Bill Sherman (Head of Research V&A), Simon Fleury (conservator V&A), Jorge Otero-Pailos (artist and preservationist, Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, US), Mari Lending (Professor of Architectural Theory and History, The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Norway), Adam Lowe (Director of Factum Arte, Madrid), Jonny Golding (Director of the Centre for Fine Art Research at Birmingham University, UK), Mari Lund (artist), Erik Langdalen (Head of Institute of Form, Theory and History, The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Norway), Thordis Arrhenius (Professor, Linkøping University, Sweden).
