Jorge Otero-Pailos

jorge_b&wJorge Otero-Pailos is a New York based architect, artist and theorist specializing in experimental forms of preservation. Otero-Palios teaches at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture. He is the founder and editor of the journal, Future Anterior. His works are exhibited in international shows such as the Venice Art Biennale and are collected by major museums and foundations. His art, architecture and writings have been published in international journals such as Art in America, Artforum, Architectural Record and Volume. Otero-Pailos rethinks preservation as a powerful countercultural practice that creates alternative futures for our world heritage. Otero-Pailos was a guest professor in the research project, Place and Displacement: Exhibiting Architecture (funded by the Norwegian Research Council) from 2011-14 and was professor II until 2020.
